Full Stack .NET Software Engineer

Position Description

The Software Engineer works with the technical team to build and deliver a quality software experience to customers. Your primary responsibilities in this position include being responsible for creating applications from scratch, configuring and enhancing existing systems, and implementing solutions
from technical specifications. You will work closely with other members of the technical team (BA, QA, Architect and Hardware Engineer) to design and deliver quality and stable software. You will also work with the Custom Success Advocate to help resolve customer issues that require code changes or
technical assistance. Your day-to-day duties involve implementing software changes, code reviewing, debugging of issues, technical planning and other related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis and design of solutions
  • Document requirements, analyses, designs, and work estimates at a software level.
  • Implement software that meets the design requirements, works correctly, with coding that is clear, testable, and efficient. Unit tests should be built into the software.
  • Implement all aspects of a software solution from the database to front-end presentation.
  • Work with the UX Designer to ensure software solutions are user friendly.
  • Work closely with the QA team to ensure high quality solutions that are easy to test.
  • Analyze and resolve program defects & unexpected behavior in your own code and code developed by others.
  • Participate in peer code reviews / inspections, bringing knowledge of techniques such as: reuse, performance, interoperability, defensive programing, security, safety, etc.
  • Rapidly learn new technologies and skills as needed to improve our software
  • Accurately estimating user stories to help ensure accurate timelines and roadmaps are met.
  • Able to assist with data conversion and system implementation plans such as setting up new customers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Work under general supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Ability to move quickly and think on your feet. Everyone here is incredibly kind and extremely willing to share knowledge and a helping hand, but you have to be willing to take ownership of the outlined goals and make things happen.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with the .NET framework, SQL Server, and design patterns such as MVC and MVVM.
  • Understanding of Git version control including branch strategy.
  • Understanding of client/server applications
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with the following .NET/C# frameworks is a plus, but not required: MVC Razor, Web API, .NET Core, Blazor, Xamarin.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with native Android and iOS development is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment solutions
  • Experience with the following cloud tools is a plus, but not required: JIRA, Azure DevOps, QuickBooks Online

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in software development, or related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Has 5-7+ years of hands-on experience working on software development teams using C#.

Software Product Analyst

Position Description

The Software Product Analyst is responsible for discovering and documenting technological solutions into business requirements. Your primary responsibility is to help our technical team meet the needs of our customers by translating those needs into concise technical requirements. You will work closely with the technical team and Customer Success Advocate to achieve this goal. In addition, you will need to work with customers and Arbre’s internal team to create visualizations and dashboards from product data to help understand client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in discussions and interact with business users and customers to fully understand their business processes and work environment. Observe how they use software systems to do their job, and brainstorm ways to help them be more efficient and effective.
  • Write crisp, concise requirements and user scenarios that clearly capture what the users want and help engineering bring them to life in software.
  • Manage the priority of work in our project backlog and establish timelines based on estimates of work from our technical team.
  • Gain a full understanding of how we develop software and provide ideas and perspective on how we could do it better. Develop a basic technical understanding. Be able to explain the technical building blocks and how information flows within our systems to users of the applications.
  • Analyze customer and internal business unit data to create data visualizations and dashboards to help understand customer and team needs using our Business Intelligence reporting tools.
  • Be flexible to adjust in responsibilities as our team and software solutions evolve to continue meeting the needs of our customers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ability to gather requirements from the internal Arbre Team and conversations with existing or potential customers and translate to user stories for implementation by the technical team.
  • Evaluate and recommend new opportunities for enhancing our software and IT processes.
  • Ability to use data to understand business patterns and trends.
  • Experience with backlog management tools (i.e. JIRA, Target Process, Azure DevOps)
  • A basic proficiency in SQL and the ability to clean, organize and visualize data using data queries.
  • Experience with Power BI, Sisense or other data analytics tools.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Software Development, or related fields preferred.
  • Has a passion for helping customers achieve their goals, and enjoys the outdoors. Genuine enthusiasm for gardening, forestry, and horticulture a plus.

User Experience Designer

Position Description

The User Experience (UX) Designer has the know-how for creating innovating and modern solutions for a variety of product design challenges on both mobile and web interfaces. You will lead the charge for designing new user experiences and improving upon existing experiences through highly detailed storyboards and prototypes that effectively communicate interaction throughout our applications. You will work closely with our technical team throughout the production cycle and assess the optimization of our front-end design via user-centered design methodologies and user interface specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Consideration of existing web and mobile applications and evaluating their current effectiveness and user impact
  • Defining interaction models, task flows and UI specifications
  • Develop and maintain design wireframes and specifications as they relate to user stories and larger features in web and mobile applications
  • Coordination of gathering feedback from existing customers and implementing testing/UX workflows with those customers
  • Build storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project plans to the technical team
  • Design the aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts allowing for interface edits as needed
  • Create surveys for research through various media platforms to gather feedback on ease of use and satisfaction with the user interface
  • Help the development team implement your designs and workflows using JavaScript, CSS and HTML

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in creating and implementing UX design
  • Proficient with visual design programs such as Adobe XD, inVision, Sketch, Photoshop, or other UX tools
  • Experience with coding and the ability to do front-end development work using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
